Born and raised in New Jersey, Mahitha moved to Miami when she was accepted into the University of Miami in 2008. In undergrad, she studied Athletic Training and worked with many of the UM Division I athletes. Mahitha then decided to go back to school at UM and study Physical Therapy where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. An athlete herself, Mahitha began practicing Pilates to rehabilitate from an injury and return to running. She instantly fell in love with The Pilates Method and knew she wanted to use it in conjunction with both her personal and professional practices. While still in Physical Therapy school, Mahitha completed her Comprehensive Pilates training with Polestar Pilates Education and then went on to become a Certified Pilates Teacher with the Pilates Method Alliance. 

Mahitha has also done advanced training with Pilates for Neurological Conditions taught by Mariska Breland, and holds a certification with the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).

In addition to pilates, Mahitha also works as a Physical Therapist and is a former Professor with Athletic Training at the University of Miami. She loves challenging anyone in her classes and enjoys advancing everybody’s movement practice to their best abilities!
